I've been using my cordless Dremel Mini-mite for about 10 years now, and it is more than due for retirement. The battey doesn't keep a charge and the thing is bulky compared to the newer models on the market today. I've been shopping around for a new dremel/router for a few months now and was almost set on purchasing the WAVE router (you might have seen it in Hobby Japan or Dengeki Hobby magazine) when I stumbled upon this one today at the new hardware store that recently opened near my home. The amazing thing about it wasn't just the ridiculously small size... but the low price! 3600 yen (about $30)! It comes in a plastic case with a good set of grinding/carving bits and it has a speed control on the handle to dial in your rotation speed.

Close up of the speed control - sorry for the blurry pics, these were all taken with the camera on my cell phone ^^;;

Wow, you found it at a hardware store? Seems almost ideal for a hobbyist though. ;)

Really nice, it reminds me of the kind you can get for doing nails from foredom and such that I have for doing fine detail, but they cost way more.
