Yay, my first original figure kit. Third figure kit. Progress page so far: http://www.gamerabaenre.com/ryofu_prog.htm
And a sample picture of her pinned and test fitted:

EDIT: She's done, scroll down :D
Looks great so far... I think the GM might lose a hand if he's not careful
Griffon Enterprises does need to take another look at their end product, as I've heard of numerous complaints about missing pieces, poor fit and finish, and overall bad quality control. They are nowhere near the quality of a WAVE or Volks kit (the difference is night and day). Since they are still a pretty "young" company in the gk biz, they should improve as they get more experience under their belts. They churn out a bunch of kits from series that I like... so I'm hoping they get better and stay around for a long time :)

So far, I'm pretty satisfied with this kit. I just didn't care for the pinholes I found and the numerous seams and flash that I had to deal with.
But on to the progress. So far I have the skin painted, the hair done, and the sword's blade done. Here are some sample images. Click on the thumbnails for a larger image:

Now, the question I have is this: How's the skin tone look? Granted the lighting was under a flouresent light but I had the camera's lighting settings deal with that. This is still only my third figure, so I'm learning as I go. I've been asking my gf about the color. Mostly because I'm color blind (red-green... not completely :D ) So I need some thoughts from you pros out there.
Hi GB,
That's a really tough call as I have no idea what it actually looks like in person (it might be perfect just like it is) - but if the images you posted are close to the actual color... then it might be too pasty looking? Maybe a little bit less red in the flesh mix? Or maybe a bit more orange or yellow? Here's the reference image from Griffon's site alongside your painted torso.

I'm starting to take my time with my kits now... so hopefully she'll come out decently.

Heh, guess it was the lighting. I didn't make any adjustments to the skin tone. *sigh* it's really difficult to accurately display stuff on the net as opposed to seeing something in person. I'll try to take better pictures :)

Great Work GameraBaenre. It's very crisp and precise. The blacks came out awesome too; black is such a pain to work with. Great eyes too!
Can't wait to see more of your work. Thanks for posting these images.
