Cold here, and I love anime figures.
Honestly I prefer the statues over the kits, because my painting skills are so weak :crys:

I do, however, love to sculpt, and I have been making a custom anime char. "Evilyne" I have already built the majority of the body, and am just crawling with the sculpt of the head >.>
Recently found out how the kit and pvc creators made the brilliant flowing hairstyles. going to try to do a similar mock-up with mine. I'll post pictures later, if anyone's interested in my wip lol

Edit(2nd attempt...I closed the first one >.>): I said "screw it" and used my webcam lol

the arms go up and down, and are blended/cut(in the middle) to hold /release the model

By the way, the whole huge bust thing is the only size I could get to look nice on the model...witch doesn't bother me in the slightest...:evillaugh:

Welcome to GK! I'm pretty new here myself. I found this board doing a search for how to sculpt anime figures from clay on Google. Hope you will share some of your work. This is a repaint of a couple figures I recently repainted from my collection. I got 4 of these figures so I decided to go for it. So far it seems I have a better handle on repainting existing figures than I do sculpting. But I'm a noob at both. :-)

The one on the left I repainted the skin, the hair and the ears. On the right? I repainted the entire figure based on a version I saw on eBay selling for $20. Again- I got 4 - so I wanted to see if I could make my own "White Tiger" scheme. I loved the blue hair on the eBay figure- so I did that too. Still some mistakes I need to correct though.

Hope you will show some of your work. Seen a lot of good stuff on this board so far.

I intend to edit the orig. post with the images I've made so far. Just concept art for now, but later today I'll be able to access a camera, so I can take some shots of my progress.

@Xeliarios: Before I read what you wrote, I couldn't tell that they had both been repainted, I was thinking, "ok witch is the orig. to compare with..." lol
Definitely going to take a look at your site, I love seeing other people's work, it's very inspiring to think about the beauty we can create.
Being completely honest, the eyebrows on your figures are buggin the heck out of me lol
I think they should be darker =p
side note on that though, natural blonde's eyebrows bother me, so idk

Just noticed you can't edit XD
With my last message, something I use before I try painting something is photoshop or gimp, or some kind of image editing software,
to make sure I like the painting style before I put in the effort to paint it.

Now, I like how your figures came, this is just a btw sort of thing, so if you want to repaint something you only have one of for example

the scanner isn't working atm and I'm really tired, so I'll post them up later today, scanner be willing lol
or just say screw it and take digi cam pics or web cam pics of them :evillaugh:
