This is a commission for my beloved fiancée and I'll be paid in food; a night out at a fancy restaurant. :D

I'll let this lil' teaser pic speak for itself till I get the WIP thread rolling for real...

Well...

I'm pretty devoted to the hobby and no kit escapes my hands without some sort of extreme attention and care...

take a wild guess...

Hey Joa

Glad to see another project from you. Shiva is one of my favorite Final Fantasy Guardians. I especially loved her in FF8 and FF10. I can't wait to see more progress pics.

Ancient1: Indeed, I was very happy to recieve this kit as a gift from Joa and am looking forward to seeing him paint it.

Oh you are so lucky. :)

You won't be dissapointed. I have seen Joa's work and let me tell you, the man is a pro at this.:D

Ancient1: Thanks for the assurance, deep down I wasn't so sure if he'd cope with this or not. Now I wonder why I ever doubted him! :p

To clarify things, I've been living with Joa for 4 years. I've seen him do commissions several times and I've seen him work on that Seras kit and am now "witnessing his magic" on Casca. I have every bit of confidence in him.

Ancient -

Starhawk goes by another name on the "other" board. You would recognize her - cool specs, dark hair, wicked smile. You know - Joa's fiancee? :D

Sorry, Arie... totally forgot to take pics.

Todays work achieved:

Dremeled out her head to mount Brigt blue LED, painted inside silver.
Drilled out her eyes.
Drilled out her right arm to install fiber optic wire (the multi fibre type) to achieve a sparkle effect over the crystas in the base...
Changed angles on both arms + head to give the body more *motion*.

more to come... :ninja:

Well, no.
I'm installing a bright blue LED in her head to light up her eyes.
There's also a bright white LED in her shoulder to light the fiber optic fibres *sprouting* from her fingertips.
The base (with the agat plate + crystals) will be lighted from underneath with 2 LED spotlights (one feeding a rotating colored disc to make it appear the crystals live/burn with a blue flame) and fiberoptic fibre will simulate sparks around the edge of those crystals.

Right now I am quite busy not making mistakes as there are TOO many steps to do in the right order while asssembing her. And there's no way to correct mistakes afterwards.
Also, take in concideration she's about 1/12th scale... :ninja:

No, defenetly not.
But I'm now back to work after my vacation and the evenings will be filled with working at the hobby bench rather than sitting by the computer.
This is just my 10 minutes of checking everything before bed time... ^^
Pics / development will be posted towards the week end.

Bumpity-bump!

I hear ya! :D

Te-he... this project got a lil' unvolontarily rest, and right now my work table is inhibited by the intimidating apostle Zodd (of Berserk), a commisioned piece I'd have to thank my Casca conversion for... apparently someone was impressed by the pics posted.

Ok .. 2005!? ::yikes

Well, since I feel like I am on a roll here in the hobby room with my old computer installed and readily available, I tend to spend more time here. (take notes, Doc! ;) )

So, these WIP pics were taken way before I started on the Zodd project (see my sig for details), but I think I might as well post them.
Looking at them now makes me wish I had done few things differently, but the end result is quite neat.

The original pose was so-so (ok, boring as hell), so me'n the Ms. decided on adding more life to her.
She's supposed to stand atop an elevated, lit up crystal pedestal which main ingredients look like this:

Then I thought that it'd be neat if she actually summoned some crystals from her out stretched fingertips (enter fibre optics).
So, first i cut her up in order to re-pose her:

Doodling...

And here's the final re-pose:

http://www.gkjapan.com/gallery/files/1/3/DSC01562__thumb.jpg (http://www.gkjapan.com/gallery/files/1/3/DSC01562_.JPG)

I drew some mini cables for the LEDs through her body.
I drilled through the torso and the right arm and dremelled a canal along the backside of her right leg.

Testing the LED's:

This pretty much brings us up to date.
She is assembled (except for the bangs and the top of her head) with all the alterations sculpted in , ready for primer:

Here's a glimpse of the final look:
