Everyone knows there is a lot of weird anime related merchandise out there right ;) .
Last week while on the chat one of our members mentioned they once saw anime PVC figures online that had soft chests.. yes thats right squishy boobies! I've seen the giggly gel Tenjho Tenge capsule toys and FilmMkr's old avatar so I decided to look into these one's I've never heard of.
It turns out Sega made two limited Evangelon Motor Riders figures of Misato and Rei. While they are PVC they have special super soft chest and stomach inserts.
I'm not usually a pvc buyer but I had to get these gals for the novelty of it lol :p .
They were hard to round up but I found a set and took some pics for you guys.

I bought one! :) One of the Rei's. I've been working on something similiar for a year or so now, and thought it would be interesting to see how this was done.

It was badly realized in this case I think unfortunately, because you can't really even squish them with your finger, you have to poke them with a pencil or something, because they're n behind vests. Maybe the Misato would be better in this case. Also, the silicone used was too hard.

Also, the main purpose of casting a figure like this in silicone for my purpose would be to mimic skin qualities, and realism, like movement and translucency, and also molded color, that would be more realistic, which was again, totally missed in this case.

Chimera I totally agree in all points. I do think its a step in the right direction though. I figure if their going to be making all these pvc figures and with the technologies we have today they should be able to get it right and make them more realistic in an entertaining way that is lol. :P

I think everyone needs to realize that these figures are not retail items. They are prizes in ufo-catcher game machines, and if you have a steady hand and a bit of luck, you can get one of these figures for about $1.80. I'm sure with the technology and materials available today, they could make something pretty realistic if they tried (like the GASP... adult market), but this item was meant to be a gag and not a realistic simulation :keke:

Hmm, that's interesting, even so, with the Rei at least, (I just watched your Misato video, and it's much better than the Rei), there doesn't seem to be any point to siliconizing the chest in that case, since it's completely inaccesable.

It kinda sucks actually for my project, so maybe that's why I'm down on it, since I came up with a killer idea a year or so ago for something similiar(albiet better) everyone will be compairing my project with this and say I got the idea from it if I actually manage to complete it ever.<sigh> Oh well ;)

Lol I guess there is a fine line between going to far(adult products) and something like I would want for the fun and noveltie of it not sexual... that would be very very wrong... .

Is it just me or is everyone interested in seeing what chimera is coming up with :p .

:) One of the very soon things on my slate is to start the injections of silicone that I finally found a great mix and color formula for, into some of my previous molds and see how they turn out, so maybe I'll post some wip of that step, and leave it up to your imaginations what the next step after that will be ;)

I heard the same thing. In fact there is one of those exact models you posted at my local wal-mart. It had a bunch of disney bad guys in it which have now been since replaced by a boatload of Minnie Mouse in yukata.

If we are going to make kits with squishy boobies/bodies I have a great link to some stuff called synthetic flesh. Some friends and I have used it for making body parts and applcations for halloween as well as masks etc etc. It's already tinted to flesh and is pretty easy to work with.

Why didn't I ever think of mixing my movie prop and garage kit hobbies before?

Ok I needed a new alarm clock. At the same time one of the stores in Japan I use was preordering an official alarm clock from one of the show I'm currently watching Nagasarete Airantou with the main girl character Suzu on it.
Instead of a bell it wakes you with one of I believe three voice sayings by the girl who voiced Suzu - Yui Horie.

I know it's really corny lol but hey it's just for fun ;) .

Here is the tag on the box it came in:

Here is the clock on my night stand. I'll have to wait and see how accurate it stays:
