Hello all, I am planning to try my hand in sculpting my own model for the very first time! I currently do alot of drawing, and I thought to myself why not try making a model of it as well...
Currently reading up on what I need, later I will buy materials, tools and whatnot....
For now here is a picture of the character that I will try to sculpt...

wow she should be fun to do ^^ and she has those ears i have a weakness for
since you do a lot of drawing you've got a great head start. that lets you get a feeling for the proportions.
her design looks like it will be easy to hide the parts breakdown if you decide to make copies of her when you're done.
we discussed some of the different stuff you can use in the chatroom today. id probably still recommend supersculpey just for ease of use. a lot of pros swear by the stuff. lol some of her detail work might be best using a 2-part epoxy putty (i just use plumber's epoxy putty. same thing and its pretty cheap). it'll usually cure harder so it doesnt break as easy on the thinner parts like her ears and that mask.
doh! have to make this short. my son just woke up from his nap so this is the end of my computer time for the moment. besides i have a kitchen to clean and floors to mop. yay

Update for today!
Today the sculpting tools I bought from Ebay was delivered, and I must say they look pretty good.
At work at the moment, so I will post pictures when I get home.
On another note, I will be moving into the new apartment in a couple of days. Just have to get the keys. We have alot to sort out, like the phone line and stuff so no internet for 2 weeks or so I'm afraid....
Best of luck on your sculpture project, Hocun.
Do keep us updated, with pictures of course :)
