ok not a whole lot in the way of a wip. ive got my test pull all prepped and ready to be painted and i started painting her today so want to show off what her main body color is starting to look like. Bear in mind there are a few more coats of paint to be added before it's completely solid.
i took the Apple Barrel Concord Grape color i used for my atomic bomb gothic rei and mixed it with some folkart metallic sterling silver to come up with this color. i like it much better than the original flat purple i was planning.
Lighting is a little off due to the fact its night and im only using my office lighting and flash but you should get a good idea of the color. i didnt bother spraying layer of white primer under it since i wanted it to stay a bit darker. you'll see the one leg is still just grey primer. this is becuase its easier to handle if i leave that leg til last to paint lol

slowly but surely she's coming along. the pics show her only teporarily propped together since im not quite done with those parts yet. she'll eventually be clear coated with a gloss finish instead of matte but im out of gloss. doh :squint:
i experimented with making the silver look a bit more like metal instead of flat silver. i just mixed some of the folkart sivler with apple barrel brand black paint then thinned it down a ton with water like a wash. i then took an old scrap of cloth and used it to rub the thinned paint mix onto the metal parts layer by layer. worked out fairly well.
the first pic shows only a very slight difference. left is original flat silver. right has maybe 2 coats of the mixed "wash" on it. following images have a few more layers of wash and a matte clearcoat

ok after some suggestions i messed around with washing the panel lines and raised areas to define them a bit. not entirely sure how successful it was seeing as it was a new method for me. lol
i basically just took the main color and darkened it with some black.
the lighting is a little harsh being i had to use my office lighting and flash since its about 1030 pm my time. :p

Arie-The darkened lines definitely look better! Adds more depth to it. Looking great!

Ok She's been done for a few days now, just finally got around to taking some pictures. Forgive my still fairly noobish build skills but I'm happy with how she turned out. There is a small dot of black i still need to get off of her forehead. had a small leakage issue around the masking when i was putting her hair on. Next up is a second build using the shawl.
Colors used-
Apple Barrel Concord grape + FolkArt Metallic Sterling Silver
Apple Barrel Black
Delta Ceramcoat Fleshtone, White, Toffee Brown, Golden Brown, Bright Red
high gloss finish done with Future.

Looking sweet. Can't wait to see her with Cape.
The colors came out really nice Arie :) and the cute little puppy finishes off the kit perfectly lol I love when sculptors add bonuses like that ;).
