One of my gifts from the Secret Giveaway. I opened the box and couldn't wait to get my itchy fingers on her.
She's a beautiful cast, perfect details. Very few pour plugs and few seamlines. Unfortunately the worst of the seam lines were located right in the arm/torso area where its hard to get into. As for putty, very little was needed. Mostly just a bit in the Leg/pelvis joint and where the thighs meet to fill some small gaps.
Unfortunately she won't be seeing any color until I get an airbrush so this will be a WIP that isnt updated much for a while lol

And here she is in her primed glory. Still a bit of sanding to do of course.

even flat-toned, she's absolutely gorgeous :) Next time you're in chat, ask the airbrush crew about clear colors and ideas on how to paint what little of that outfit she has ;)

OMG she's back from the dead!
Ok, I finally got motivated to work on her again. Though you'll notice she isn't the same Issutahr that you first met.
To make a short story short- I got a little dremel happy. I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with though. It's almost a completely new kit. Though she will still be Issutahr. :)
Ignore the snack mess in the background of the pics. hehe :keke:
Round 1 of the dremel wars!-- I did the main cutting and test fit her to see how I liked the pose.

Round 2 of the dremel wars!-- I didn't like the way her right arm stuck out so I decided to cut her arm off at the shoulder and make her holding it out more in front of her. Of course this created a problem since her right breast then got in the way. So I cut it off and moved it in slightly.

Round 3- After a couple weeks, I finally managed to get to the hardware store to pick up some more 2-part plumbers epoxy putty. I began puttying the gaps. These pictures you'll notice she slouched a little. Her arm is pretty droopy too. Easily fixed.

Round 4- so I repositioned her to stop her from drooping. It's not real noticable in the pics, but theres a slight gap in her neck. I'm thinking of tilting her head up just a little more so she isnt looking into her chest as much. She has a nice rack, but I don't think she neds to be staring at them all the time. lol Of course, this will also require me cutting and repositioning her hair a bit as well. No biggie. I'm having fun :)

Whenever you reposition parts like that, you need to remove the material from the joints, or you end up with limbs that are out of proportion. With the change at the hip and at the knee, you end up with a lot of extra material and that makes the figure look disproportionate. You might consider removing some material from the thigh area if you can find a spot with no detail. That should even things out a bit :)
OMG
she is sooooooo cute!!!
and I love sitting figures
I'm looking forward to see her finished ::thumb

Than you would love the Morrigan I got.
Still trying to think of a nice base though.
I like the new pose much better than the original boring pose.. keep it up.

Masa is right - what you've done is add eight scale inches to a foot to her height, all in her legs. Don't forget the calf either or she will have extra long legs below the knee.

ok not a whole lot of an update. its pretty much been a ton of sanding of the legs to get them smooth. i had to remove the detail from her outfit (what little there was :p ). im not too bothered by that though. it is a recast kit and the detail was pretty soft so id rather redo it all than try to match up new to old. i tossed a coat of primer on her legs so i could see how much more sanding i need to do. still some but not a ton. its going pretty well. and as you'll probably notice, ishtar has a bit more junk inthe trunk than she did before lol i am still working to get that left leg to fit better at the hip. its a bit too wide.

OK, I've been sanding sanding and sainding some more. I've also been trying to figure out what to do with her left arm. Because of the slight twist in her torso, im having trouble finding a way to position the arm so it looks natural and she isnt some freak contortionist (too lazy to see if i spelled that right :p )
As you'll be able to se in the pice, ive also begun creating my guide for her display. I'm thinking I may not end up doing the entire display i had in mind. if i did, the thing would end up HUGE, so i'm going to mod my idea a little :keke:
anyway, in addition to cutting her left arm at the shoulder now, ive also cut her hair in 2 places. one right at the base of her head and the other farther down. i just couldnt use the hair as is because of the chair. im also going to be tilting her head up a little more so you can see her face better. i havent decided yet if im going to redo her face a little to have her appear to be singing.
anyway, let me know that you think, especially about that left arm. these pics i brought it forward so she's holding out both hands. it might work, even with that shoulder dropped as far down as it is. there are still some big gaps in the left arm since im not attempting to fill anything until i figure out what im going to do with it. for the time being the parts are stuck together with blue poster tack.
ive also given her left butt cheek and thigh some lipo so they're not as fat. they look much bette.r ill get pics of it nxt time one i prime rher up again so its easier to see the difference.
sorry about the blurry pics. i still stink at taking decent ones. need to learn to take my time and set up some actual lighting for it :p

Thanks :) I like the way she's turning out too
did some more work on her emulator chair. It's not pretty at the moment by any means, but this is pretty much just the pattern for it.
heres some blurry shots i took while i put my VHS of Macross II on pause. lol

Love the modification! She looks so cute sitting down like that, I think you did a wonderful job capturing the original form! I can't wait to see what you do next, when you have time ::thumb I remember running across this thread when searching for Ishtar a while ago, I think she looks much better the way you've posed her! Thanks for showing me!
