Ok, this is my first foray into the figures realm of models. I'm primarly a gundam modeler, but this little figure caught my eye a while ago and I've been itching to get it and break my figure cherry so to speak. Here's the progress page: Saber Progress (http://www.gamerabaenre.com/saber_prog.htm) And here is the completed page: Saber Completed (http://www.gamerabaenre.com/saber.htm)
Please give me some feedback. I have pretty thick skin so, have at it. Be as critical as possible; because honestly, I have no clue what the heck I'm doing in terms of figure models. I will eventually build some more so I'd like some critiques from you guys. Since you guys have done some incredible works.
Very nice! =)
I've always liked this character design though I am not familiar with the game.
I like the metal work and the base for her; gives you that antique 17th century look to it...
For a first fig... that's really good. I saw your mecha stuff which is really nice too. Only suggestion I have would be to clean the kit a bit better (still some small resin boogers on the hair pieces) and try to get a smoother line of paint flowing on the eyes. The costume, armor and accessories look great! :)

Thanks guys. Yeah, I still need to work on smoothing out resin when I'm sanding. I just have a tendency to get inpatient. Happen with every kit I have.... But yeah, the eyelining is way too heavy. I'm still debating on if I should fix it or not. Well, I'll let her stew for a bit and if she bugs me enough, I'll go back and heh.. fix her face...
I use GSI Mr Color for everything but the armor and gold lining. Those were done in Alclad paints. I should have done the eyes in enamels. If I start working with more figures, I'll look into investing in some Delta Caremcoat since from my reading, that's what most of you guys are using. As if I didn't already have enough paints :)

I'm quite impatient myself. That's why I've taken a break from my figure. Like you said, you can always let her sit for a bit and go back to her eyes when the time is right. Otherwise, I really like your work. Keep it up!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have another figure kit coming and I'll probably start that as soon as I get it. Figures are a completely new world to me so it's gotten a fairly good hold on my interests. I really should completely finish my current project, but I have a sinking feeling that I'll be pulled into working on this new figure. I'll start up a progress thread when that happens :D

yeah I love Saber!
I hope to get this model someday too! I like what you did with the armor... *sigh* Mine won't look like that...
but that is the intresting part of modeling... nothing is ever the same ^_^ Keep up the good work! I can tell you are great at it ! :D
