So I have a few more (ok, a LOT more) Japanese kits after my trip. Most of the stuff I picked up was event-only, and as we all know, even though the resin itself is great, the quality of the casts on event kits can sometimes be pretty poor. Such is the case with my D. Casti kit. She's got many pinholes, and a gigantic POTHOLE in her leg. Several of the pinholes are in detail areas that I'm not sure how to go about fixing. Right now I have Mr. White Putty, Mr. Dissolved Putty, Mori Mori, and Bondo Premium available to me. How would you all suggest going about and taking care of both the detail pinholes and the huge hole in her leg?

Hmm For the big hole I would use the Mori Mori or the Bondo and I suppose if your quick before it drys you could spead some over some pin holes but if its small holes in a detailed area you might not want a heavy putty there so the Mr. Dissolved putty is thin and easy to spread with a toothpick into tight or detailed spots but it tends to shrink when it drys so you'll have to do multiple coats or a slightly heaver coat. I like using Mr. White Putty on seam lines since its quick and I don't mind it shrinking since I will be sanding most of it off anyway.

I'm sure other member who have run into this alot over the years will have some great tips. I wouldn't mind hearing some suggestions on this also.

for filling pinholes ive tried someone's suggestion of thinning the bondo glazing and spot putty with acetone. it can be easily painted on then and is really easy to sand. worked fairly well when i was doing my Arche Klaine kit.

What I'm really concerned about, though, are the holes in some of the lines of her outfit (the plugs and her arm, for example, as you can see in the pics). These are small areas that need filling but also need to conform to a SMALL, THIN shape. What to do there?

For those thin plug areas, you might have to use a small drill like a pin-vise or a sharp knife and open up the pin holes a bit to let the putty fill up the air pockets. Dissolved putty would work for that. Since the walls are so thin on this part though... it might be easier to just sand the entire area flush with the background, fill any depressions, and cut some styrene tubing to size - to replicate the plugs. Either that, or fill all the plugs with putty, then drill out the depression in the center with a drill later. Good luck with the repairs!

for the larger air bubbles with smooth sides you may have to anchor the mori mori or other putty. I'll usually take an old piece of plastic sprue, heat it and strech it out. This makes a pin that you can easily file down.

If the picture uploaded you can see the dark blue pin in the Mori mori ed hole in her shoulded
