...I'm so choked up. I didn't even get a chance to go to one.

Apparently May 5th is the last one.

Only Hobby Complex will be left...

Well there's always Wonder Festival, but it's only like twice a year. On the plus side WF is unlikely to disappear, though I can't say that with absolute certainty anymore, after this WHF fiasco.

That is very sad news.
We've felt this "downhill tendency" in hobbyshows for some years in Scandinavia .. but to me it's always looked like the hobby and Otaku-genre kept going strong in Japan ... so this a somewhat a punch in the face ..... Let's hope WF will keep on.
A sad goodbye to WHF .... and a very heartwarm "Domo Arigatou-gozaimasu" to the organizers of WHF, for all the work they've put into this event for the years it existet.

Who knows. Someone may take over it like Kaiyodo did with WF.
But yes, sad news.

Is there a decline in interest? Too many :censored: pirates recasting the artists work prehaps?

Can't be sure; they never gave a reason for the closure.
One hypothesis by the folks at Heisei Democracy is that Hobby Complex is too great a competitor, and that it's no longer profitable to run WHF.
