Very new to these, the only thing I can saw I have confidence is the building part thanks to some mild Gunpla kits. Anyway just playing the waiting game for the Cerburus Project Yoko from Gurren Lagann,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/syn13/cpyk4.jpg
It whould arrive early May as it will be available on April 28.

So any tips? I'm guessing the order goes from:
Inspection
Cleaning
Test fitting
Prime then sand until near perfect
Clean again
Paint

I'm very worried at the painting part since I;m pretty crappy at it. I also have a crappy entry level Tamiya airbrush so alot of things will be limited to me.
I think I'll be checking the Tutorial section alot. :D

She looks like she's going to be fun. I've only actually done 3/4 of a kit myself, I've gotten hung up on the painting part .. :/

Just make sure you have fun building it. That's the most important thing. If you can stand the many cycles of sanding, priming, preping, sanding, priming... painting will be just a learning curve...a steep, somewhat jagged, bumpy and frustrating as @$#%@! learning curve.

Well, you might want to do some practice on a junk kit first. You know, get the hang and study techniques and stuff. If you cant get your hands on some junk kits, a person here suggest you try your painting skill on a plastic milk bottle.

If you can make that milk bottle sexy! than you're all set :D

I think from reading a lot of forums the best way to get better is practice :p . I've completed and painted two Gundam models thus far and have just gotten started with garage kits, but it seems like for painting just make sure you have a smooth base to start with and make sure you don't spray too thick, too thin, or at too high of a psi. Just read a bunch of forums for tips, there's a whole treasure trove of information out there!

Thanks guys~
I'm just putting a list together of what I need, I'm getting money back from my eye exam and thus I'm considering:
Tamiya sanding kit(2 400 grade, 2 600 grade and 1000 grade sandpaper)
File
Wave's Epoxy S
Hand size drill
rods for pinning.
I thnk thats it for now.

Oh yea, whats the difference between the epoxy I ordered above and Mr. White Putty?
Are we talking about a HUGE difference because of the application it was meant for? I have alot of Mr. White Putty from my Gunpla days and from my experience, it was very soft. I left of to cure for a day or two because I was a noob and didn't know how long to set it to cure and sanded hours afterwards.

Epoxy putty is usually for larger holes or molding to fix parts. White putty's are good for smaller filling jobs and medium sized pinholes or air bubbles. Certain putties can be thinned with Lacquer thinner or acetone for filling smaller pinholes.

Here is a quick description of poly vs epoxy: http://www.gkjapan.com/showthread.php?t=760

Nice, I wonder if Mr. White putty could be thinned out? The consistency of if is very very stick while I guess most putties are like that.

Unfortunately my last putty job turned out ok, for the most part, seams were covered up except for some parts where I didn't have glue(damn friends).
Shoulder guards, probably infamous for Gunpla kits:

Ass Boosters, needed more work:

Hmm, this thread may belong somewhere else, either that or I'll start s WIP thread when I get the figure.
