If you love figure models and garage kits, but don't care for IPMS shows, this is the event for you!

Wonderfest 2008 (http://www.wonderfest.com/)

Wonderfest is a gigantic model show/contest that is the largest of its kind in the U.S. The main attractions are the huge vendor area, a world-class model contest, guest stars, Wonderfest University, and last but most certainly not least, the seminars!

The seminar programs run all day Saturday and Sunday, and are led by some of the superstars of the GK modeling world - David Fisher from Amazing Figure Modeler, painting icons Steve Riojas, Joe Nejberger, and Saul Alvarez, and sculptors extraordinaire Sam Greenwell (who sculpted my Galapagos Girl HERE (http://www.gkjapan.com/showthread.php?t=873) ) and Mark Van Tine, airbrushing expert Tom Grossman, and more.

For some odd reason, I was invited to join the seminar madness this year, so I will be doing a photography seminar on Saturday afternoon:

Filmy's Foto Fantastic (http://www.wonderfest.com/daytime.html#How-to%20Demos)

(You may have to scroll down to the bottom of the page for the seminars.)

I feel like a rookie attending his first All Star game - even though this is my third WF, I'll probably spend the day getting autographs from all of the modeling icons!

The vendor room is a GK fan's heaven on earth - this is where I picked up Future Girl, Avaris, and a host of other resin goodness last year.

Hope to see some of you there, and if you do make it, please stop by and say hello!

Can't make it, but it would be cool to meet you and see the show. Money is always the issue.

m candy and bladerunner -

Wish you could make it too -we had a blast last year, and this year will be a hoot as well. I will have lots of swag for the folks who make my seminar - I've already invested a ton for swag and giveaways, and the show will be, well, lets just say "entertaining". LOL.

As an added bonus, American Idol will be holding auditions that same weekend in Louisville, so the Convention Center will be full of freaks - smelly model geeks and no-talent singers with wild-ass costumes. Oughta be a blast!

For me, it's family and money issues. I'd love to visit events like this, meet some of you, and get a taste for the scope of this hobby.

Filmy, have yourself a great time. You've always been very generous about reporting your trips (like Japan) and we owe you a few cold ones someday.
