That ol college game

Posted 01-04-2010 at 01:28 PM by Tsunamidelta
So, today.. I had a goal.. and as far as I can see.. I accomplished that goal. Didn't think I could do it all in a day. but somehow I managed!

I am officially.. a College student now!

I arrived at Tri-high.. bright an early.. and proceeded to march up and down isles and hallways till all things that I had to get accomplished.. Was accomplished.

Lets see.. I did my Orientation.. Online ^_^ I wish they had told me that , so I could've just done it from home.. Bastards. I spoke to a counselor.. He was, Helpful, and generally vague on most points. but pointed me in the right direction. Then I registered for classes.. I have one night course atm.. but supposedly wednesday night a lot of the classes that were closed open up again.. so I'm hoping I can move it to the slot I have free in the am. Hopefully. Then I proceeded to the business office. Waited in line.. Filled out a customer service survey.. Then finally got my permamnant student ID.. and my Parking tags!

From there.. I went to the Financial Aid office.. waited in another long line.. and got my Special circumstances form.. which I have to get back to them as soon as possible (Like after I get my W2's.)

Finally after all that.. I went to the Bookstore.. and purchased my books that I will need for this semester...

Let me tell ya, this whole college thing is a fine Money sucking racket. All said an done.. First day of school.. set me back almost 600 bucks. Wowsers!

But!!! I did it!!

Counselors aren't doing their job right if you aren't more confused after meeting them to prior.

    And books...yeah, that's a crime right there.

Yeah, This whole process.. is generally vague.. and not well thought out for someone who hasn't done it before. Really for something that everyone should be doing.. and the institutions wanna make money.. they don't seem to care to plan things out better.
