I hate the mall during summer break. The heat, crowds, screaming kids, non-attentive
parents of said screaming kids, etc. etc. I'm still not sure how I ended up there in the first place
(I'm betting it was something slipped into my morning coffee

) but I was there, like it or not,
so I just had to make the best of it.

My daughter made a beeline for the game center to ride the kiddie train and my wife asked
me if I was going to the game center with them. I thought about the 10,000 kids I'd have
to wade through to get anywhere near the train ride... and said "Nah, I think I'll go check
out the hobby shop".

After walking past 5 rows of pvc figurines and 10 rows of gashapon figures, I finally made it to
the two rows of plastic model kits way in the back (no resin figures in the mall hobby shop).
I figure it will be a quick look for a figure fan like myself... tank, tank, car, car, plane, plane, gundam,
gundam, gundam, gundam, gundam... HELLO! Wave 1/24 Tachikoma from Stand Alone Complex!

Even though I knew I was going to be stuck there for the next few hours in shopping hell... having this kit
in my hands made everything just a little bit more bearable
