While talking with other members in chat about IPMS and military modeling in general, I realized that I've never built any armor models (at least as far as I can remember). As a wee lad, I built planes, trains, and automobiles, spaceships and lots and lots of robots, but never got around to building anything painted in olive drab. To 'broaden my horizons" so to speak - I decided to (gasp) build an armor kit. Looking around for something to build, I stumbled across the Maschinen Krieger series by Mr. Yokoyama. I figured "hey, this is kinda armor-ish, and appeals to me more than tanks do," so off to do some research I went.
While googling through some photos of kits I came across a site that had an awesome build up of a Nitto Kröte. After drooling over the buildup photos for a bit, my brain finally registered that I've heard the name Otaku Viking somewhere else... Our very own KROKOHUNTER!!!!!!!! http://krokohunter.wordpress.com/200...e-is-finished/ Even if you aren't interested in the genre - check out the builds - amazing stuff!

Well funny how things like that work out Eh Masa.. I'm hoping some of my tank pictures will help ya Masa.. I can post up the other pics from the musuem I went to in Tampa if you need em ^_^
Though its not a true tank.. Come on.. Go buy some real armour already.. A Panzer or a Sherman.. something that you can pile junk on in the true way of the IPMS.

A tank? Hmmmm....
![]() I think the Ma.K stuff is a happy medium. Not straying too far into the armor realm while whetting my appetite for something new. Smack me if I start talking about scale black though... ![]() This stuff is made of the same unobtanium as event only figure kits. Since I'm totally late for this party - it's going to be hard hunting down some of the kits. All the interesting items have the dreaded "soldout/discontinued" signs.

I think I found something cool and made of unobtanium - Wave's 1/20 scale Gans kit. Got it for a little bit more than retail price. I'll have to wait for Kroko to show up and tell me if the kit was worth it or not

Like OMG! An actual WIP...
1/20 scale Maschinen Krieger S.A.F.S. Space Type Fireball SG from WAVE corp. Yeah, you read right... 1/20. Makes those A-Brand 1/8 scale look gigantic. The going is very slow as I can only work on it at night after the family and kids are asleep. One thing I forgot after my 20 year styrene kit blank is how many pieces these kits contain. So, after lots of cutting and sanding and gluing - here is where we are at right now. Doesn't look like much, but there are like 50 something pieces and 4 hours of work represented here ![]()

Wheee the joys of styrene!! Fifty that all? You'd thunk they could've stuck about a hundred in that small an area.. they seem to be able to do that with Gundam and Macross kits. ^^; Huh who would've thunk it.
Looking real good so far.. seeing some uneven areas around them ankles though Masa.. On the one in the pic closest to the camera. outside of that.. Sweet!
